More Random

Boegiboe travelled over the High Hills with his staff in one hand but nothing in the other.
"I will fill your other hand with herbs and flowers," said Arksark the Gypsy.
"I will fill your other hand with cards and tricks," said Lod the Conjuror.
"I will fill your other hand with rubies and riches," said Haza the fat maid.
"Those aren't good enough for me," said Boegiboe.
Then came a splash and crash from a castle moat. "Help!" cried Alger Ot, "I can't swim!"
"That's good enough for me," said Boegiboe.

Pet Peeve

Before now, I could never define what my "pet peeves" were... but now I have a better grasp and I would like to share.

Something that really irritates me is when people don't say what they mean, or are unfaithful to their word. I'm talking about that person you know who when they tell you 'maybe', you know they really mean 'no'.. or worse, you know they mean yes only if something "better" doesn't come up. THAT is annoying. And.. other things along those lines.

I'm not even ranting or thinking of somebody specific. I think I'm just realizing in myself that the thing that annoys me most is UNfaithfulness. I'd rather somebody scream "HELL NO I AIN'T GOING NOWHERE WITH YOU!!" than tell me yes and not show up or call...

the end.

ps. I've heard (I think its in the bible...) that the thing that you hate most in other people is probably something you do...(so..Call me out if I'm ever being like this!!! haha)

- splashing strawberries across my face by accident
- "is that for here or to go?" "yes"
- wanting to beat the the bun toaster with a bat "Office Space" style...
- Burns and random bruises/cuts (wait, that's not fun... =oP)
- throwing old fries at coworkers
- laughing at ___ ask "is that for here or to go?" over the drive thru
- dancing the cupid shuffle in the kitchen
- deep conversations over raw meat... and friers
- Getting creative with your break food
- a huge out of control German Shephard in the drive through window!!
- hiding coworkers from creepy guys who hit on them (we look out for each other)

A random glimpse...

into the life of my sister and I...

The Scene: Kat and I pulling up to Lisa's house for life group. I shut the music off and Kat is getting ready to get out of the car.

Me: I really want to learn how to play drums...
Kat: NO! you can't! I wanted to learn how to play drums first! Joel started teaching me but I stopped...
Me: what the heck?? why can't we both know how to play drums?
Kat: you have paino!
Me: SO. Why can't I have piano, guitar, AND drums...
Kat: (interrupting) Stop being a... a... Marsha Brady!
Me: !! then stop being a Jan!!

Change...

Being at home is teaching me a lot about myself and my relationships and my relationship with God. (Like how I'm so rediculously unfaithful...)

But yea, I'm learning in more than one way that I am the type of person who doesn't like to be in one place for too long. Change can be hard, but I like change. That's probably why I've been known to change my furniture around every semester, why I'm always ready to move on to what's next (along with impatience..), why I don't mind moving every year or two, and why I can't stand to be in one position/doing the same task all day long at work.

Wanna Hear Something Awesome??

A couple of weeks ago I was onstage during worship and I happen to look down at my sister. She was worshipping. That sounds perfectly normal right? Except she really looked different from before. I thought in my head, "hmm... that looks different." (A good different. btw.)

She later told me about how that past Friday (after a night of prayer and worship) Pastor Tim prayed with her for her back surgery, and then went on to talk to her and help her to pray and to give her life fully to Jesus!! WOO!! So thanks for your prayers guys.

A couple of the ladies at church have been loving on her and talking to her, and I love watching my spiritual family support her. I can see a difference in her attitude and desires already. (I love Jesus. ^_^) And today she recieved the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Oh and she has been recovering rediculously fast from her back surgery. Overall, she is doing extremely well, and I am excited about getting to watch her grow and become a woman of God.

Perelandra

I have been reading C.S. Lewis' "space Trilogy" lately, and I have really enjoyed them! In case you didn't know, C.S. Lewis is the author of the Chronicles of Narnia and a TON of other fiction and non-fiction. I'm definitely a fan. ~_^

Anyway, they are short books, but really good. I just recently finished the second of the trilogy which is titled Perelandra. I just wanted to share a few quotes from the end of the book that I thought were stinkin' awesome! So enjoy!

"He dwells (all of Him dwells) within the seed of the smallest flower and is not cramped: Deep Heaven is inside Him who is inside the seed and does not distend Him." (184)

"When He died in the Wounded World He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, He would have done no less."

"He has immeasurable use for each thing that is made, that His love and splendour may flow forth like a strong river which has need of a great watercourse and fills alike the deep pools and the little crannies, that are filled equally and remain unequal; and when it has filled them brim full it flows over and makes new channels. We also have need beyond measure of all that He has made. Love me, my brothers, for I am infinitely necessary to you and for your delight I was made."
